Get Prepared

Preparing for a pandemic is essential. Local, State, and Federal Governments are preparing, but it is also important to plan on a personal level. There are several resources available to help with the planning process. Please click on the links below to access specific resources, which include checklists, brochures, and posters.

When it comes to pandemics, there is no rational basis to believe that the early years of the 21st century will be different than the past. If a pandemic strikes, it will come to Idaho.

“While your government will do much to prepare for a pandemic, individual action and individual responsibility are necessary for the success of any measure. Not only should you take action to protect yourself and your families, you should also take action to prevent the spread of influenza if you or anyone in your family becomes ill.”

Health Care

“With regard to health care workers and their ability or willingness to come to work during a pandemic influenza event, we know that this is tied to their concerns for their families and their own personal health. These are reasonable concerns and could be managed with appropriate planning on the part of the government, the employer, and the health care worker.”
